CRVA Methodology

This section provides practical information on the methods behind Climate Risk and Vulnerability Assessment (CRVA) and adaptation.

The methodology was prepared to provide governmental and non-governmental adaptation implementers such as (local) government officials, development experts and civil society representatives with a structured approach and a guidance for assessing vulnerability to climate change. Additionally, it might be used by the technical experts and planners working at local, sub-national or national levels. It offers an effective tool that supports a sound assessment.

These are two key questions that this methodology helps to answer:

  • How to plan for a vulnerability assessment?
  • How to carry out a vulnerability assessment?
