Climate Change Exposure
South Khatlon, Sughd will be most affected by increase of extreme maximum temperatures. Gorno-Badakhshan and to less extend upper Vakhs basin and Khatlon will also experience increase warmth period duration. The increasing drought duration will in special impact on Sughd province, Western Republican Subordination and Khatlon. The chance on heavy precipitation increases the most in Gorno-Badakhshan and upper Vakhs Basin, and to a little less extend in east Khatlon and eastern parts of Sughd province. The increase of heavy precipitation reduces the positive impact of the increase of total precipitation as effective infiltration will reduce. Together with the increased heat little positive effect may be expected from the increased precipitation. All together Khatlon, Republican Subordination and Sughd province are expected to be most impacted under the climate scenarios.
